Energy regulator ofgem will announce the next official quarterly price cap on friday, with charities concerned about the prospect of prices rising again. On 23 august 2024, ofgem announced that the energy price cap, for a typical household who use electricity and gas and pay by direct debit, would be £1,717 from 1 october.
